The Gordon Setter is the largest of the three setters and was originally bred to a one man hunting dog in Scotland. They are black and tan with a long haired coat. They are muscular and sturdily built to produce stamina rather than a fast running dog.
They make great family, obedience, hunt, or show dogs. They can adapt to many different styles of living but will need plenty of exercise. Due to their longer coat, regular grooming or clipping is a must.
