Jean E. Andrew

Graduate of University of Illinois - BS Animal Science  -  graduated "high honors"; Edmund J. James Scholar; Dean's List; Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society;

Recipient Jonathan Baldwin Turner Research grant: conducted research on “Effects of Feed Form on Blood Glucose Levels and Feed Efficiency in Weanling Standardbreds.” Presented results at the Equine Science Society’s national conference in Tucson, AZ in July 2005. Received Orville G. Bentley Undergraduate Research Award.

Member of Illini Equestrian Riding Team -Competed in IHSA Western Pleasure Shows, 1^st Place in Regional, 6^th at Zone Competition; Assisted with Coordination and Hosting of IHSA Western Horse Show; Assisted with U of I Quad Day and Explore ACES Booth.

Extensive work and internship experience with large equine operations in all aspects, from AI, breeding, foaling,  training, conditioning, competing and sales. Additional experience in canine related activities such as training of field dogs (including general companion skills, yard work, and basic and advanced bird work), and AKC hunt tests. Authored an introductory manual for the gun dog.

Also extensive retail experience with feed and pet stores including a broad knowledge base of feed types, animal products and services, nutrition, and presenting consumer workshops and pet fairs.
